Kustom Boosta-Blasta – ork vehicle – Warhammer 40k

I bought this kit because I thought it looked cool.

I started by assembling the engine and mid body.

I painted the parts with black primer, then I used Vallejo’s black metal and painted selected areas.

Then I dry brushed the metal with a slightly brighter metal colour.

The rear tires was painted with tire black.

Then it was time to do some additional building, so the turret gunner and gun was built as well as all parts for the exhaust system, and the 2 goblins. I also added a few colours to the tanks on the main body.

Then those parts also got some primer, at least on one side.

The parts in the pic are only painted black. It’s just freshly painted giving it all a shiny look.

I masked the body parts and painted the rest red in different tones.

I thought using masking putty was an easy way of masking some more complicated areas, but as it turned out, the putty had covered more than I had expected.

Instead of masking everything again, I used a brush and filled in the areas where paint was missing. I also painted some details, and here is how it looks now.

I still need to paint some details, and still got figures and remaining parts to paint. At least the driver needs to be painted, so I can continue with assembly.

Toyota Prius – part 2

First all chassie parts got some black paint.

Then the interior parts got some light gull grey.

Actually the gull grey ended up a bit thin in some areas. And I need to touch up that.

The instrument panel was masked and painted with RLM 74, and in the pic the seats and panel parts are dry fitted.

The glass seems to fit very well and even have a masking set included.
Those crosses in the roof that fits in the glass might create a bit of a problem if I want to paint the inner roof.

The exhaust pipe was painted aluminium.

Also the brake discs got some paint with Molotov Chrome.

It shows a bit in the pic that I hadn’t done a proper work sanding the discs neatly anough.
I just have to sort that and re-paint.

I’ve checked the body for mould seams, and surprisingly haven’t found any except on the inside, which in my mind is very strange. Never seen that before!

Toyota Prius – Fujumi 1/24- part 1

I bought this kit a while ago, and thought it would be fun to build, and I’ll also participate in a Civvy group build.

I will not do it as on the box cover. So I will omit most of the decals and the emergency light on the roof. Instead I bought real car paint in lime green metallic.
That sure will be interesting to try out.

I’ve started by removing all the parts for the first two steps and also sorting the ejector pin marks on the brake discs with some putty.

Next I’ll clean up the parts and paint most of it black. The discs will be painted with chrome and a few parts in aluminium.

New arrival – 9th of march 2023

I actually collected this kit yesterday, and it’s quite large!

Millennium Falcon box

It’s a perfect grade kit and also quite expensive, and I really didn’t expect to lay my hands on such a kit! I just hope I can get the time and space to build it.
I’ve heard that it’s a quite nice kit to build with parts fitting like a dream, and I guess that’s what perfect grade means. I also has electronics for the lighting if I’m don’t recall wrong.

I’m expecting one more parcel but for some reason the store where I collect some of my parcels has been closed for 2 days now. So I have to make a post of that later.

Hellcat Mk.II – part 9

Last update on this build as next will be the final reveal.

I gave the underside a protective clear cote.

For some reason I just might have forgotten to clear cote the topside later.

Next I used Flory’s wash for the first time.

I used grime on the topside and brown on the underside. Here’s the underside after wiping off the excess wash with a moist cloth.

It wasn’t until I started wiping off the wash from the topside that I realized that I probably hadn’t coated that side, as one of the walk way decals went off.
I managed to save it and get it in place with some Micro set, sol and lastly a few drops of Pledge.

I gave the landing gears an oil wash and added the covers.

I turned out that fitting the landing gears was a bit fiddlier than expected, and the covers fell off.

Adding the landing gears was the first part of the final assembly and for that the rockets also needed some colour.

Before adding the missing parts, I also gave the plane an oil wash and some sooth streaks with Tamiyas sooth pigment.
Feeling the end was getting closer, I tried to finish it quicker than neccessary. Ending up with rockets and antennas falling off.
Slowing down helped a bit and gluing the rockets one by one and letting the glue dry inbetween.

Then with all parts in place and everything done except removing the masking from the canopy, I gave it a cote of matt varnish.

Almost finished

That pretty much concludes the build, and the next post will be with the final reveal pics.

It’s a quite nice kit with only some minor problems, a few that I probably caused myself.
Perhaps some day I’ll get the Profipack and build that one, using what I know now to build it better.
